The requirements of the European WEEE (Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive (2012/19/EU) are implemented in Germany through the law on the bringing into circulation, taking back and environmentally compatible disposal of electrical and electronic appliances (the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act. In German: Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz or ElektroG).
The Act requires that manufacturers, distributors and importers that bring electrical and/or electronic appliances into circulation in Germany register with the Register of Old Electrical Equipment Foundation (the Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register or Stiftung EAR).
ELEKTRA Tailfingen Schaltgeräte GmbH & Co. KG is registered in the EAR Foundation’s register of manufacturers under WEEE registration number DE 95115659.
Taking back / disposing of old electrical and electronic equipment
ELEKTRA Tailfingen Schaltgeräte GmbH & Co. KG takes back products in those categories of those appliance types registered with the EAR Foundation. Appliances concerned (as per Art. 2 of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act - ElektroG) are appliances of category 4 “appliances with at least one outer measurement of more than 50 centimetres (large appliances) and that are classified as “large appliances for exclusive use in areas other than private households”, and appliances of category 4 “appliances with no outer measurements of more than 50 centimetres (small appliances) and that are classified as “small appliances for exclusive use in areas other than private households”.
Old appliances that were brought into circulation prior to 13 August 2005 are not taken back. Identification of the date of manufacture is based on the production mark on the type plate of the respective product.

The crossed-out waste bin on products, packaging materials and/or accompanying paperwork means that used electrical and electronic products must not be disposed of with normal household waste.
It is the end user's own responsibility to delete any personal data on the old devices prior to disposal.
ELEKTRA Tailfingen Schaltgeräte GmbH & Co. KG products may not be disposed of via public collection points. The taking back of old electrical and electronic appliances can be done in the form of a return lodged by the customer and approved by ELEKTRA Tailfingen Schaltgeräte GmbH & Co. KG (WEEE product take-back).
